Project Controls
The Project Controls Group at Eichleay offers critical support functions to our clients, project managers, and upper level management. These services include cost engineering, progress reporting, manpower forecasting, estimating, and scheduling.
 Each month we prepare engineering forecasts, trend logs, and monthly status reports for all projects. Engineering forecasts provide performance information on a per discipline basis by showing approved budgets, expended hours and costs (for the current period and to date), earned values, and forecasted hours and costs to complete. Trend Logs are intended to raise advanced warning of cost or schedule changes, or potential changes, related to the design, procurement, or construction efforts. Monthly status reports incorporate these two documents, and provide additional information about engineering scope, activities (accomplished and upcoming), purchase order summaries (including accounts receivable), and issues and concerns. All of this information provides our clients with the information that they need to effectively manage their projects and make informed decisions.
The creation of conceptual, preliminary, budgetary, and detailed estimates is another one of our key strengths. In order to achieve the highest levels of accuracy possible, we draw upon extensive amounts of historical data from past projects, and routinely interface with vendors, contractors, and all of our engineering disciplines. Many of our estimators also have hands on experience in the building trades, and all are quite familiar with local construction environments. A true testament to the quality of our work is that some of our clients have hired us as their exclusive estimator, and others call upon us to prepare check estimates against the construction firms who bid their work.
We are also able to provide an array of scheduling services ranging from the creation of simple Gantt Bar Charts to complex resource loaded schedules utilizing the Critical Path Method. Although our staff does not execute construction contracts, we are often involved in the development of milestone construction schedules which give our clients a "first pass" look at critical construction activities including the delivery of materials and equipment.
